We had been trying to get our new trailer fully licensed for two months and were beginning to lose faith but last week, the number plate gods came through for us and we were granted our shiny new license plates.

We had our sights set on Pi 3.14 but our geekery was brought to a halt when we found out that it was already taken and we settled for PI 341 instead.

Ah, Pi = 341 sounds better anyway and how many people are actually going to be looking at the plates, when there is pure gold (in the form of pies) on board the trailer?

HELL’S KITCHEN

There is a rather sinister TV series making waves on NBC in the US.

The Hannibal series was first aired in 2013 and has received critical acclaim for it’s unique style and the competence of it’s lead actors. As you can probably imagine, the show demands a strong stomach from viewers, as the devouring of human flesh at Hannibal’s dinner table is a recurring theme.

But before you scream and run in the opposite direction, give a moment of thought to the skills of the food stylist on the show. Artist Janice Poon manages to create the most grotesquely delicious looking meals for every single episode. From bulgar made to look like a human tongue, to Ox extremities parading as human thighs – this lady has us mesmerised.

Here at helloGoodPie we are strong believers in the power of good food because food is at the heart of everything – family, friendship, health and happiness.

This view is one echoed by the lovely people at Kinfolk Magazine. The quarterly lifestyle publication was founded in Portland, Oregon in 2011 and has since become a globally adored concept.

Kinfolk focuses on food culture and the art of entertaining via beautifully curated photo essays, recipes, interviews, profiles, personal stories and practical tips.

They regularly hold global gatherings for their readers – hosting Kinfolk dinner parties all around the world and bringing people together in beautiful settings, to enjoy beautiful food. Most recently the theme was L’Esprit de la Mer (the spirit of the sea) and we are in love with these photographs from some of the various locations.
